"I, Alyesha Wise, was raised in the
city of Camden, N.J. I began writing at the age of 11 and
eventually developed a passion 4 this thing called Poetry.
The founder of
Love, Us, I am on a
mission 2 spark a LOVE REVOLUTION, holding a strong belief
that unity and compassion is the healing force to all that
exists."
"My highlights on stage include, but
definitely aren't limited to: opening for Universal
Recording Artists, The Flobots - opening for Wise
Intelligent of The Legendary Poor Righteous Teachers -
performing alongside remarkable wordsmiths, including
Sunni Patterson and Toni Blackman - and being told by poet
& co-founder of Essence Magazine, Russell Goings, "In
all, you are awesome. "
"My life is dedicated to the
progression of the youth, urban communities and all
people. One example of my community contributions
include my involvement in the launch of the "Success is
in the Bag " High School Mentoring Program in Camden,
New Jersey. In addition, I regularly visit high schools
and youth centers throughout the east coast. On another
level of education, I have performed at over 20 colleges
and universities across the nation."
"You may have heard or seen me on
media such as Mind TV, 107.9 WRNB with Tiffany Bacon,
100.3 The Beat with Star and Buc Wild, GTownRadio.com,
Rhyme Street Magazine or Philadelphia Gay News, just to
name a few. There are additional non-performance focal
points which I carry, such as being a panelist at The
2011 West Chester University Poetry Conference,
co-coaching the 2010 Philadelphia Youth Slam Team, and a
speaker at the Saving Promise rally against domestic
violence in 2010, Philadelphia, Pa."

"I'm one
half of PUSSIES, PENS, AND POLITICS. (("PUSSIES, PENS
AND POLITICS" is a tongue lashing, fist pumping spoken
word romp presented as a collaborative effort between
two of the foremost, emerging voices in the spoken word
movement in Philadelphia. A "no holds barred" experience
that would makes its world premiere in the GLBT Artists
Festival, this production presents the work of 2008 and
2009 Philadelphia Grand Slam Winner, Ms. Wise and Scheme
Magazine's 2009 "Voice of The Year" Denice, "Ms.
Misconception" Frohman—with both fiery verbal exchanges
and individual pieces. Both artists, as proud lesbian
spoken word performers, have joined forces to use their
voices to raise awareness about social injustices in the
gay community and beyond, while inspiring the world one
word at a time. From raunchy poems about temptation to
the ever more relevant Prop 8 legislation --"Pussies,
Pens and Politics" is a verbal explosion and rallying
cry exploring the context of love in life and politics
for today's gay community, while leaving you laughing
out loud and empowered—all at the same time))"
