In a slam what sets a poet apart from the competition is their performance and the lingering passion the audience feels when the artist has left the stage. Every 3rd Wednesday, and over a period of eight months, eight poets will compete for the title of Graffiti DC slam champion and a chance to walk away with the grand prize of $2,000. Come witness poetry in its highest competitive form. General admission is $10 (includes a $5 drink ticket); 18+.

Graffiti DC is a fairly new event for the DC Poetry scene. The atmosphere is a blend of great poetry, good music, good food, and drinks. There's something for everyone, even those who traditionally wouldn't gravitate towards a poetry event. See video below for a preview of the event.
